Foto de stock - 27 May 2021, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schuenhagen: Small ash trees stand in the ash seedling plantation of the Schuenhagen forestry office. The new seedling plantation was established in 2020 on land owned by the state. A total of almost 12,000 small ash trees have been planted on the three-hectare site from the seeds of 64 hardy trees. For the past 15 years, the Asian fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus has been spreading in Germany and attacking more and more trees. The newly cultivated trees are supposed to stop the further ash dieback by increasing their resistance.
