The municipality of Ostseebad Binz is the first destination in 2020 and 2021 on the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to install emergency call pillars at tourist-relevant points in the town. The 10 pillars are located at sites between Neu-Mukran, Prora and Binz on the beach, on the pier, at Schmachter See, at car parks and at other relevant points. The emergency call pillars were purchased through the Björn Steiger Foundation, which has been committed to establishing and improving emergency assistance in Germany since 1969.
