Foto de stock - 23 April 2022, Brandenburg, Schlieben: A fence with rusty barbed wire stands on the grounds of the Schlieben-Berga Subcamp Memorial at the camp's former shooting range. The camp was administered by the SS from July 1944 and, as the third largest subcamp, was subordinate to Buchenwald concentration camp. Prisoners of war and concentration camp inmates had to produce mainly bazookas on behalf of the Leipzig armaments company Hugo Schneider AG (HASAG) on the approximately 500-hectare site. Today, there are still ruins of the bazooka production facility, which was dismantled after the end of the war, twelve bunkers, and the guard and administration barracks.
