It burned completely around Whiskeytown Lake and burned 229,651 acres in Shasta and Trinity Counties before it was 100% contained on August 30. It destroyed at least 1,604 structures and damaged 277 others. Whiskeytown Lake ´´glory hole´´ is an overflow drain not the same as a spillway but is available to prevent overflow from excess water behind the dam.
