Foto de stock - Forts Record Trip Wrecks F.W - 190 Factory -- Smoke and flame from the wrecked factory soar high as the Fortresses turn from the target and start the long journey home. Apparently secure in their belief that East Prussia was beyond the range of daylight bombers, German defences were caught napping Saturday October 9th., when Eighth Air Force Bomber Command Flying Fortresses attacked the huge Focke Wulf aircraft factory at Marienburg, south east of Danzig and 200 miles beyond Berlin. This plant covering more than 100 acres was believed to assemble approximately half of all FW-190 fighter planes produced. December 20, 1943. (Photo by U.S Official Photograph).
