Foto de stock - May 05, 1980 - 125th Birthday Of Oskar Von Miller(-): 125 years ago, at May 7th 1855, Oskar von Miller (pict.) was born in Munich as son of the wellknown brass founder Ferdinand von Miller. The engineer Oskar von Miller organized in 1882 the first exhibition of electrical technic in Munich with power transmission from Miesbach, a little town about 50 kilometers south of Munich, to Munich. From 1884 till 1890 he was - together with E. Rathenau - director of the AEG (Allgemeine Elektrizitatsgesellschaft) and of the electric power station of Berlin; in 1890 he founded an engineer office in Munich which got wellknown on the domain of the power economy. 1981 Oskar von Miller created as the leader of the International Electric Exhibition in Frankfurt/Main the three phase current power transmission Lauffen-Frankfurt. But wellknown in the world Oskar von Miller became as the founder of the 'Deutsche Museur in Munich (1903), which never lost, since it's founding it's attractive power for more than one million visitors yearly. Also the building of power stations - the Etsch- and Pfalz=Station as well as the Walchensee - and Bayern Power Station - are built by him. Oskar Von Miller died at April 9th 1934 in Munich.
