View of the ruins of a Roman barrack, in the southern edges of the city; not to be confused with the early castel, they stand on the north-western edge; the barrack is a dark basalt building, it has a wall surrounding an inner courtyard on wich several rooms were exposed; during the Byzantine era, around 600 A.D. two towers were added to the complex, the first one is on the left of the photo, the second tower is in the middle behind the wall; the entrance is on the right.
