In July 1974, she had loaned a car with a government tag to a Soviet woman who caused an accident. Marina wasn't worried at that moment in time, but as soon as the marriage was announced, the Soviet authorities reopened the case by announcing that one of the accident's victims had decided to press charges against the owner of the vehicle. The marriage of Boris and Marina is very compromised because Marina has got to leave the Soviet Union at the end of the month, even though the authorities have decided on November 11th for the marriage celebration.
