Foto de stock - Thornton Abbey, Humberside, 1999. Aerial view of the remains of Thornton Abbey, Thornton Curtis, Humberside, dating from the early 12th century. The cross shape of the main church building can be clearly seen, with the walls of the south transept the only part surviving to anywhere near its original height. A priory for Augustinian canons was established here in 1139, and was largely rebuilt during the 13th and 14th centuries. A house, outbuildings and vehicles can be seen, below centre.
