Foto de stock - 06 September 2022, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lubmin: A warning sign with the inscription ""Radioactive"" stands in unit 3 of the nuclear power plant. According to the Nuclear Waste Management Plant (EWN), it is the largest dismantling of a nuclear power plant in Europe. The nuclear power plant VE Kombinat Kernkraftwerke ""Bruno Leuschner"" was on the grid between 1973 and 1990 and provided eleven percent of the electricity demand in the GDR. The nuclear reactor in Lubmin was intended to make the GDR self-sufficient in electricity imports. Dismantling has now taken longer than operation.
