The Federal Ministry of Construction had supported the transformation of the listed cooperative quarter in the Saale city until May 2022 by means of an energetic quarter concept and a redevelopment management. The core of the project is to increase the quality of living while maintaining affordable rents by redesigning a total of eight courtyards. Six courtyards have now been completed. The themes of the minister's visit include preservation of the architectural heritage, social district development, new construction and energy-efficient refurbishment, adapting cities to climate change, and young and cooperative living.
