After a rummage hunt in the Upper Harz, shot roe deer, wild boar and a fallow deer lie on the trail in a meadow in Elend. The shot animals are put according to old custom on distance. The hunting months of November and December are the hunter's main harvest months. Drift and bolt hunts take place now in many places. In the Upper Harz, mainly red deer are hunted, but wild boar are also increasingly hunted. With the Stöberjagd mainly trained Stöberhunde and also drivers are used.
