Foto de stock - 27 May 2021, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schuenhagen: A small ash tree stands in the ash seedling plantation of the Schuenhagen forestry office. The new seedling seed orchard was established in 2020 on land owned by the state. A total of nearly 12,000 small ash trees have been planted on the three-hectare area from seed of 64 hardy trees. For a good 15 years, the tubular fungus called ash stem cup (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus), which originates from Asia, has also been spreading in Germany and is attacking more and more trees. The newly cultivated trees are supposed to stop further ash dieback by increasing their resistance. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Schuenhagen/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany
