Foto de stock - 29 October 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Dessau-Roßlau: In the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Biology at MVZ Medizinische Labore Dessau Kassel GmbH, Eva Kanty, Medical Technical Laboratory Assistant, pipettes a reagent onto 96 PCR plates with a multichannel pipette to prepare detection reactions for the corona virus. The laboratory, which is one of the largest medical laboratories in Germany, says that it has reached the limit of its capacity with up to 1400 materials examined for corona virus SARS-Cov2 every day. Due to the rapidly increasing number of corona tests, there are already bottlenecks in the required reagents but also in the staffing of the laboratory. Currently, the volume of samples coming from the surrounding area, from Berlin, Kassel and Saxony, among others, is being handled within 24 hours.
