Foto de stock - 30 March 2022, Brandenburg, Potsdam: The steam engine house at the Neustadt Havel Bay is modeled on a mosque in its shape. The steam engine housed here enabled the fountains in Sanssouci Park to bubble. A chimney is hidden in the minaret. Frederick William IV had commissioned its construction in 1841, the year of his accession to the throne. For the start of the season on April 1, 2022, the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg (SPSG) annually reopens some houses that were regularly closed during the winter season. As special highlights, the Belvedere Klausberg, the Norman Tower on Ruinenberg and the Steam Engine House (mosque) will open on selected days between April and October this season.
