Foto de stock - Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne pictured during a visit of Minister of Justice Van Quickenborne, to the Drug Treatment Chamber (Drugsbehandelingskamer), at the justice palace in Ghent, Tuesday 08 June 2021. The Drug Treatment Chamber is a pilot project set up with the support of the Minister of Justice in the Court of First Instance in Ghent, that allows the accused - under supervision - to work on his or her drug problem. The duration of the supervised drug treatment varies from six to twelve months depending on the commitment and progress of the accused. If the treatment process is successful, this will be taken into account in the final judgment. If the procedure is not followed, the final judgment will be passed immediately.
