The children raced the miniature shetland ponies at the 1.45pm after parading in the ring. With Fairy Idaho number six winning the race, ridden by Kinarva Garner (maroon, light green sash) age 14 of Bangor-on-Dee in Wales which was her 45th win, following in her brothers footsteps who are both jockeys Tom and Oliver Garner. (contact number for winner available) The days racing raised tens of thousands of pounds for the The Moorcroft Racehorse Welfare Centre in Lindfield, near Haywards Heath. The charity re-homes some forty horses each year after they have been re-trained for a life after racing.
