Biografía

I am a mid career photographer with a strong interest in personal essays about people, place and relationships. My main work for the past five years has been about downtown Windsor, Ontario, nearby Essex County and Detroit, Michigan. I'm always looking for something hopeful or optimistic and mostly, very human. Most important, I ask, does this series of photos add to the historical knowledge of a particular body of work? My work is characterized by bright colour and strong light.

Any special artistic influences?
Originally inspired by Karsh, Cartier-Bresson and McCullin. Lately inspired by Bill Cunningham, Daido Moriyama and Garry Winogrand.
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
Complete projects. Too often shooting goes on and on. It needs to come to an end. A book, website, agefoto submission--completion is key.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Probably a cook or possibly working in a wine store. Wine and cooking are two passions.
