Biografía

Living near the Great Smoky Mountains, I've grown to love the photographic treasure known as the Appalachian & Blueridge mountains. A rich diversity of images at home & around the world inspires me to share what I see with words & images. Published in Sierra calendars, Nat Geographic Traveler, BlueRidge Country, Outdoor Photographer, Photographic, Country & Backpacker magazines, American Park Network's national park guidebooks and many, many other websites, ads & publications worldwide.

Ansel Adams - the range of light. Freeman Patterson - seeing art all around me. Elliot Porter - beauty in nature. Galen Rowell - the controlling factor.
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
That the best photographic tool you have is between your ears - where you learn, think, decide to be there, know your equipment, and stay motivated.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
A musician. Sound & light have similar physical principals. They both have an infinite range of possibilities when used by an artist.
