Photo de stock - PRODUCTION - 05 May 2023, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Zecherin: The Zecherin Bridge connects the mainland with the island of Usedom. Several times a day, a segment of the bridge is opened for larger ships and sailboats. The Zecherin Bridge is a bascule bridge over the Peene River in the course of the federal highway 110. Unexpected damage to the Zecherin Bridge causes additional traffic obstructions to the island of Usedom and from the island to the mainland. Thus, a bridge flap of the 320-meter-long southern road access to the vacation island must be repaired Germany's second largest island - Usedom - has only two access roads. Currently, traffic is already reduced to a maximum speed of 20 kilometers per hour. The Zecherin Bridge is the only access road from the south to the island of Usedom, which attracts thousands of visitors every week with its imperial resorts of Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck and Bansin.
