Biography

I'm getting to the point where I can't remember too much about what happened earlier, except that I'm not a war criminal and I've always liked Marmite on toast. I'm Irish, a graduate of the London School of Economics, have lived in Holland for three years, Germany for many more, and shorter periods elsewhere, I'm currently trying to improve my spoken Afrikaans by butting into Subway conversations. The rest is probably trivia.

Any special artistic influences?
I'd like to say it was the wonderfully exuberant artists of the Renaissance but it was actually a man who kept pigeons and who could find attractive light in fleeting moments on even miserable days.
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
If you want some inspiration look in art galleries and if you want to avoid a broken heart make sure your film is winding on correctly.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
I'm mainly a writer.
