Biografía

I am an award winning freelance photographer/video maker using whatever technology I can to create compelling visual narratives. Based in Providence, Rhode Island, I am affiliated with Aurora Photos. One editor described me as a “...specialist in intercultural communication and visual narratives that excel in their creative mastery of light, shadow and sound, stills and video.” I have worked on assignment for Fortune, Life, National Geographic, Newsweek, The Sunday New York Times, Time, etc.

Any special artistic influences?
Harry Callahan, W. Eugene Smith and David Burnett (as well as the entire history of photography which I studied intensely in college.)
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
To become a great photographer is as just as hard a job as becoming a great doctor, lawyer, engineer or singer.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
I would be writer of creative non-fiction/magazine journalism about the intersection between economics and human behavior, working in the style of someone like Malcolm Gladwell.
