Biografía

I am a late-career photographer with a strong interest in people, place, and relationships. My main work for the past five years has been about the unsheltered, the addicted, and the unclothed. I'm always looking for something optimistic and human. Most important, I ask, does this series of photos add to—rather than repeat— the historical knowledge of a particular body of work? My work is characterized by bright colour, strong light, and layered compositions. Yes, I accept assignments, too.

Originally inspired by Yousuf Karsh, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Don McCullin. Lately inspired by David Alan Harvey, and Jacob Aue Sobo
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
Complete projects. Too often shooting goes on and on. It needs to come to an end. A book, website, agefoto submission--completion is key.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Probably a cook or possibly working in a wine store. Wine and cooking are two passions.
