Freiberg is the oldest and most important silver mining area in the Erzgebirge. The region applies for the title on the Saxon side with seventeen, on the Czech side with five parts. The selected monuments, natural and cultural landscapes represent the most important mining areas and epochs of Saxon-Bohemian ore mining as witnesses of 800 years of history.
