They will join a 2,000 men expedition, their particular function being that of observers for anything to do with radar, radio communications, weather and photography. Waite, one of the three men that rescued Admiral Richard E. Byrd during the first expedition, is making his sixth expedition - he is one of the six remaining initial Arctic explorers out of 56 activitely engaged in carrying out Byrd's work. The men will remained little America for 90 days during which time they will assist in resupplying the 7 American bases in the Arctic.
