Photo de stock - The Giant's Causeway, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, 1924-1926. Legend has it that the Irish giant, Finn McCool, built the Giant's Causeway in order to cross the Irish sea to fight his Scottish counterpart, Benandonner. The scientific explanation is that it was formed by a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago, with the mainly hexagonal basalt columns forming as the lava cooled. A print from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, volume I, 1924-1926.
