Photo de stock - WW2 - Holocaust - Executions of Jews by German army mobile killing units, the Einsatzgruppen, after they had dug their own graves, near Ivangorod, Ukraine, 1942. This iconic photo was mailed from the Eastern Front to Germany and intercepted at a Warsaw post office by a member of the Polish resistance collecting documentation on Nazi war crimes. An interesting detail never commented before might be the fact the victims are wearing bags on their heads, except the woman with a child -also with a bag- who, as it can be seen on the left side, has thrown his bag and run away. Note they could also be kerchiefs.
