Due to a dam break, and the resulting low water level, about 60 fish of different species and sizes threatened to die. The animal rescue team drove to the scene with two emergency vehicles, logistics and five colleagues. They immediately began to fill the 10 feed barrels sponsored by Bauhaus Essen Frillendorf with water from the pond. After these were all filled, they could begin with their large KOI nets the fish manually from the pond / water to recover. Since among other things also very large and heavy carps (approx. 9 kg) had to be rescued, they made several tours for the resettlement into a large pond located in the proximity. At the end of the operation 60 rescued fish could be recorded. Neighbors from the area provided the rescuers with drinks and pastries. The operation lasted 5 hours.
