Photo de stock - 08 November 2022, Saxony, Halsbrücke: The highest brick chimney in Europe stands lonely on a hill near Halsbrücke and casts its shadow over the fields. The 140-meter-high chimney was erected on the hill in 1888/89 to remove the flue gases from the Halsbrück smelters located in the valley. The smelters were connected by a 500 meter long flue gas duct. More than one million bricks were used within one year. The weight of the chimney is estimated at 5400 tons.
