In the Clausewitz Barracks, 32 soldiers had started their basic training on 06 April 2021. Eleven of these servicemen and servicewomen are ""Voluntary Military Servicemen in Homeland Security"". These soldiers complete the ""Special Homeland Security Training"" after the basic training in order to be deployed in the state commands afterwards. Active duty for homeland security soldiers is seven months. After that, the men and women participate in reserve exercises within six years. The voluntary military service in the homeland security is based on the concept ""Your year for Germany"".
