Photo de stock - 12 March 2022, Saxony-Anhalt, Annaburg: A bag of elm seeds lies in the cold storage room of the Annaburg regional kiln (Saxony-Anhalt). At temperatures between -5 and -8 degrees, the seed is kept in a state of suspension, which reduces the physiological processes in the seed to a minimum and thus keeps it alive. The origin of the forestry seed kiln dates back to 1903 in the extraction of pine seeds. The seed obtained from selected, genetically perfect forest stands is supplied to nurseries, market gardens or forestry offices. Photo: Christian Modla/dpa. - Annaburg/Saxony-Anhalt/Germany
