Photo de stock - 20 September 2022, Saxony-Anhalt, Iden: A container with a urease liquid stands in a box that was built behind a cattle yard of the State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture. The box is a filling station for a robot that pushes manure out of the barn. In doing so, it sprays the urease liquid. Urease is an enzyme that prevents the formation of ammonia. In addition to the State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture, the University of Kiel, the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) in Braunschweig and the Lehr- und Versuchszentrum Futterkamp of the Schleswig Holstein Chamber of Agriculture are involved in the research project. In the joint project Prax-Reduce, practical solutions are being developed and tested to reduce ammonia emissions in barns. Photo: Klaus-Dietmar Gabbert/dp/ZB. - Iden/Saxony-Anhalt/Germany
