The first five boats of the new K130 class have already been commissioned since 2008, with five more to follow. Two of the four warships still outstanding are also currently being fitted out. Boat 9 is in the production phase, according to Naval Vessels Lürssen (NVL), and boat 10 had its keel laid earlier this year. According to the company, at the Peene shipyard as an NVL site, around 330 employees also work on civilian orders, including repairs and overhauls of research or passenger ships, in addition to the naval and government ship segment.
