Photo de stock - 24 June 2020, Brandenburg, Potsdam: The walls of a single cell of the former secret service prison in the exhibition area of the Leistikowstraße Memorial and Meeting Place are covered with rough plaster, thus preventing the prisoners from leaning against it and carving messages. Until the dissolution of the KGB in 1991, thousands of men and women were held here in the centre of the Soviet ""Military City No. 7"". In the first post-war decade, Germans were also imprisoned, later only Soviet military personnel and civilians. In the former central remand prison of the Soviet military espionage defense, a permanent exhibition of photographs, original objects and media stations provide an insight into everyday prison life. In interviews with contemporary witnesses, former inmates talk about their fates on video. A new feature of the memorial is a virtual 360-degree tour. From 01.07.2020, the opening hours will be extended to Tuesday to Sunday, from 14.00 to 18.00 hours. Photo: Soeren Stache/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Potsdam/Brandenburg/Germany
