Photo de stock - 29 March 2022, Saxony, Leipzig: Trees are reflected in the water of the flooded Leipzig floodplain forest. As part of the long-term project ""Paußnitz Flooding"", an area of almost five hectares in the nature reserve (NSG) ""Elster- und Pleißeauwald"" is flooded for 14 days every year. The results so far have been positive: the tree population increasingly includes woody plants typical of the floodplain forest, such as the field elm. In addition, more moisture-loving snail and beetle species can be observed. Photo: Jan Woitas/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Leipzig/Saxony/Germany
