Some 10,600 heliostats (mirrors), 392,000 solar panels and a 250-meter tower are part of Cerro Dominador, the first and only solar thermal power plant in Latin America to reflect the sun's rays onto a receiver at the top of the tower. The project is part of a Chilean national renewable energy program with the goal of meeting 20 percent of the country's energy needs from renewable sources by 2025. It is supported by the Federal Ministry of the Environment. Photo: Lucas Aguayo Araos/dpa. - Maria Elena/Región de Antofagasta/Chile
