Since 2014, the Alte Aktienspinnerei, once Germany's largest spinning mill, has been undergoing renovation and will in future house the Central Library of Chemnitz University of Technology and its magazine. The new Central Library is scheduled to open in the 2020 winter semester. Users will then have access to a three-storey reading room and state-of-the-art reading, learning and group workstations. The costs of around 53 million euros will be borne by the Free State of Saxony, 13.5 million euros by the EU. Photo: Jan Woitas/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Chemnitz/Saxony/Germany
