Thousands of weber-birds, as colony-brothers, sometimes build very elaborate and branched nests, which take up wide space on carriers like trees or telegraph poles and can grow up to 4 meters wide and 3 meters high. The different subspecies of the birds build different types and shapes of nests. Often the nests become so big and heavy that trees can break apart under the load.
