Created in 1953, the mission of this official institution of the Ministry of Culture of Spain is committed to restore, investigate and preserve the Spanish film heritage and facilitate its diffusion. The building houses the archive, offices, library and exhibition halls. Declared a Monument of National Interest, the building was built in 1732 by Pedro de Ribera with a Baroque facade decorated with floral elements and became the National Film Archive headquarters in 1970.
