From this rocks rise recalling the Theran landscape of the period. Blue Monkeys climb amongst the rocks. All are depicted in profile except for one. The painting style is a masterpiece of avant garde painting with freedom of composition and intense movement. The varied poses create a relistic scene which suggest that the painted proabably had access to Blue Monkeys that may have been imported from Africa.
