Photo de stock - Close up of Hound's-tongue (Cynoglossum officinale) colourful flowers in their typical habitat of the sand dunes, Formby, Sefton. The hounds tongue plant emits a stench similar to the smell of a rats nest (hence the name rats and mice). For this reason it used to be planted around houses to keep rats and mice away, and was used on boats for the same reason.
