The expedition is to join Sir Edmund Hil-ary's party in Bailey Island, in the McMurdo Sound. Photo shows A complete set of knitted wire underclothes - which weigh 3 lbs. and which were knitted by hand by the wife of Major J.M. Adam a member of the expedition- on show today. The underclothes are for the measurement of mean skin temperature. In emergency they can be heated from a small battery or portable generator.
