It was completed in 1913, and is located along Tjhia Kie Tie Road in Singkawang. The villa, which is situated in the heart of the town, is one of the oldest and most iconic structures in Singkawang. Rumah Keluarga Tjhia was originally a traditional Chinese mansion, however, the building has since been remodeled to blend in with the surrounding architecture. The villa was built in a blend of East and West styles, consisting of both Balinese and Chinese influence. The building has a roof in the shape of boat sail, made of pouran (stone) and iron. The main section of the villa occupies two levels, which includes a large courtyard, rooms, and balconies. It is also surrounded by courtyards and gardens. The villa is home to a number of artifacts from the Tjhia family, such as old photographs, stained glass, furniture, and other items
