Biography

RAGNAR TH SIGURDSSON/Arctic-Images.com (b.1958) a native Icelander began his professional career as a news photographer in 1975. He built his reputation mastering a broad range of assignments. Some credits include, New York Times, Time, National Geographic, Toyota, Icelandair, Digital Photographer and Arctic Books. Aware of the latest technological innovations in respect to photographic equipment, image software and computer hardware, Ragnar strives to produce images of the highest quality.

Any special artistic influences?

I don't have any specific names to list. I always have taken my own path even as a young child beating to my own drum.

What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?

Expect the unexpected and go with it. While teaching photo workshops I tell my students to open their minds, push themselves and experiment!

If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?

When I was younger I thought about being a doctor, but somehow this just didn't happen.
