Stock Photo - Whakarewarewa is a geothermal area within Rotorua city in Taupo Volcanic Zone of New Zealand,attributable to the continual volcanic activity under the earth´s crust. This has formed many of the 500 hot pools,alkaline chloride hot springs,and at least 65 geyser vents. These can send up a plume or jet of scalding steam up to 30 m,usually every hour.
