The Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park was created in 1999 by merging the South African Kalahari-Gemsbok National Park and the Gemsbok National Park in Botswana and is a cross-border nature reserve in the Kalahari Desert with an area of around 38,000 square kilometers. The park is particularly known for its lions, which can often be found there, but also for numerous other wild animals that live here.
