Stock Photo - 06.09.2018, Brandenburg, Lebus: A German soldier cleans a memorial plaque with the names of Red Army soldiers killed in the Second World War on the Soviet war gravesite. On 07.09.2018, 100 fallen Soviet soldiers from the Second World War will be embedded here. The mortal remains of the soldiers were recovered in recent months by the resetters of the German War Graves Commission (Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge e. V.) in the state of Brandenburg. The Red Army soldiers are buried as part of the traditional German-Russian work mission of the German Armed Forces and the Russian Army. Russian and German soldiers will hand in hand to the Soviet victims of the heavy fighting of spring 1945 their final resting place. After the embedding of German war dead last Thursday, the embedding event organised by the German War Graves Commission at the war gravesite in Lebus will once again commemorate the victims of war and tyranny.
