The villa was once the residence of Martin Bormann, head of the party office of the NSDAP and a confidant of Hitler, and belonged to the former Reichssiedlung Rudolf Heß which was built between 1936 and 1938. From 1947, the buildings were used by the Gehlen organization and later by the Federal Intelligence Service (BND). The Federal Intelligence Service has moved from Pullach to its new headquarters in the middle of Berlin.
