Stock Photo - 04 June 2019, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Greifswald: After the symbolic hammering of the last nail at the topping-out ceremony for the Greifswald City Archive, a carpenter's hammer lies on the construction site. Eleven months after the laying of the foundation stone, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated on the same day. The four-storey building therefore has a floor area of around 400 square metres. A large reading room is to be built on the ground floor, which will also allow a larger event area via movable walls. Total costs rose to around 8 million euros. The state is contributing 3.67 million euros from urban development funds. The Pomeranian Archive Centre will also be located here, with the Pomeranian State Archive and possibly the Regional Church Archive.
