The approximately 1100 inhabitants of Stolberg are happy about the 1st place in the competition for the title ""Germany's most beautiful village"", which the town received last November. Announced by the online travel magazine Travelbook, the over 800-year-old town with its 320,000 visitors annually was awarded the title ahead of the villages of Reit im Winkel (Bavaria) and Bacharack (Rhineland-Palatinate).
